Generally I am a very forgetful person, so I need to compensate by being super organised, otherwise I’d forget everything all the time. I also find that having some kind of visual organisation makes me more productive – I am a sucker for to-do lists, which are usually doodled all over. I do a lot of organising procrastination, meaning I put off doing the actual task by planning it in a pretty way before I do it. This does mean that when I finally get around to actually doing the thing it’s usually pretty well executed. I thought about doing a bullet journal, but I found the task in itself to be overwhelming, and nothing I drew looked anywhere near as pretty as the ones on Pinterest so I was immediately disheartened. It’s supposed to be good not only for organisation, but also for mental health, but all it did was stress me out.
Anyway, I decided that I needed some kind of simple wall planner for my blog posts so I could see what I’m supposed to be posting and when. I get overwhelmed when I feel pressured to remember too much, so this is super helpful for me as all I need to remember is to look at the calendar, which is handily stuck up next to my desk. I’ve also included spaces for a to-do list (obviously), ideas, and seasonal topics I should write about so I can be inspired as well as organised.
I’m going to do one for each month, all with a different colour and pattern depending on the season. March is leaves because everything starts coming to life and we finally start getting greenery back on the trees. I’ve not filled it in yet, but I will be using it as my blogging bible when I’ve decided when I’m going to post certain things.
Expect to see a lot more of this kind of thing… it’s how I get through life 🙂
