Blogtober Day 5 – The Fall Tag

Welcome to day 5 of Blogtober! Today I’ve deviated slightly from the Autumn prompts lists and decided to do the Fall Tag instead.

This tag was created by Ell of ellduclos.blog for the blogging community. It’s one of my favourite tags so far as I get to go on about one of my favourite times of year. The idea  is you get tagged by somebody who links to your blog, then you answer the questions, linking back to them, and tag five more lucky bloggers to answer too. And so it goes on and on.

I was tagged by  Quarter Life Quest  and A Brewed Awakening, check out their awesome blogs!

So, here are my answers to the questions:

What is one candle you MUST light every fall?

I don’t have one yet, but I’ve got a vanilla candle from last christmas that I’m using until I’ve chosen a nice Autumn scent. I’m thinking cinnamon or spiced orange – something spicy! Or maybe some kind of dark fruits. Oh man I totally need to go candle shopping now!

When you think of fall, what does it remind you of?

Dark cosy evenings, hot comforting dinners, crispy leaves on the ground. I love it, and I love all the scents and flavours that come with it. Autumn fills me with the same optimism as spring, even though it’s basically the opposite season. Spring being nicer weather and longer days, while autumn brings cold and rain with longer nights. The change is good though, and it’s dependable.

What is your all time favourite fall/Halloween movie?

I love What We Do in the Shadows. It’s a great Halloween movie, even though it’s not at all scary, in fact it’s completely hilarious. One of those films that I think about randomly in my everyday life sometimes. My friend Letti plays it every year at her Halloween party, which means I get to watch it real soon!

What Halloween costume do you have in mind?

I don’t think I’m going to wear a costume, but I do have an awesome black and purple dress with spooky print around the bottom. As I get older sadly I’m less in to costumes. I favour comfort over well, anything really these days. I also have a t-shirt with a sparkly ghost on it to wear around Halloween so everyone knows how spooky I am.

What is your favourite fall trend?

Pumpkins. All things pumpkin all the time. Maybe more of a tradition than a trend, but trendy things like pumpkin spice latte are also awesome. Call me basic, I don’t care. I’ll be over here enjoying my latte and my pumpkin pie in the light of my jack-o-lantern ๐Ÿ™‚

When you think of fall, what drink comes to mind?

Hot chocolate all the way! It’s one of my favourite drink but it’s not great during the hot summer months, so when the chill of autumn comes around I’m making up for lost time. The best way to have hot chocolate is thick and covered in cream, topped with marshmallows, sprinkles, chocolate powder. The full works.

What is your go to fall beauty product? A must have staple!

I don’t have one yet, but I did just get a massive haul from the Body Shop with the intention of starting a skin care routine. Usually in the autumn I use moisturiser and hand cream more, else the cold weather dries me out. This year I’ll be trying the vitamin E range and the Drops of Youth from my haul. Keep me moist and young!

Do you prefer apple pie or pumpkin pie?

I love both (anything pastry is a win to be honest) but pumpkin pie is more novel. I think it’s a bit more of an American thing, so we don’t have a lot of pumpkin pie in the UK, though it is becoming more of a trend now. It’s best homemade, in fact I’ve only ever had pumpkin pie homemade!

Do you have any fall traditions? If so tell us about it!

I don’t really have any specific traditions yet, but we do seem to be making a few. The annual Halloween party is becoming a tradition, as is the baking of a pumpkin pie and a group pumpkin carving. Halloween is awesome!

The moment of truth, is fall your favourite season?

I think it might be! Spring is awesome too, but I think autumn might just about win.

I’m not too sure who else to tag right now, so I’ll tag people as I go along! Let me know in the comments if you’d like a tag ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Love your answers! Iโ€™m going to check out What We Do in the Shadows, I canโ€™t do horror films, but that one sounds great!

    1. Aw thanks! I just take the pictures on my phone, but I did choose my phone with that in mind. Also Google photos is great because you can search your own photos (I have thousands stored on there haha) and then choose the best ones.
